Hyaluronic Acid (HA)/ Sodium Hyaluronate

Hyaluronic Acid is an integral component of joint cartilage and joint fluid, providing both lubrication and shock absorption. Hyaluronic acid is what makes joint fluid “sticky.” Because it has been shown to maintain cells in the joint, HA is often used during times of particular joint stress like race day or strenuous exercise.

Sodium Hyaluronate is the stable and orally absorbable form of Hyaluronic Acid. Hyaluronic Acid has an important role in many physiological functions: cell protection and lubrication, structural integrity of tissues, cell and molecule transport, cell mitigation, cell function and differentiation, fluid retention and regulation. Hyaluronic Acid is an important component of the intercellular matrix. In joints it is found in the SYNOVIAL FLUID. Synovial fluid carries supplies to the articular cartilage and functions as lubricant (smoother passage of one bone over another) and absorbs shock from high impact work. The role of Hyaluronic Acid in the synovial fluid is to increase its viscoelastic properties (thickness).

How to Use

Administer orally during or after mealtime, with whatever your dog accepts best. Each pump delivers 1ml (10mg Sodium Hyaluronate).

Recommended daily amount by body weight:

• Under 30 lbs: 1-3 pumps per day
• 30-60 lbs: 3-4 pumps per day
• 60-90 lbs: 4-5 pumps per day
• 100 lbs and over: 5+ pumps per day

For initial support or hard working dogs, administration may be doubled for the first 10 days.
